Kentucky are backed to at least cover as a betting underdog in the Sweet 16.

The Wildcats won both regular season meetings between the two teams and have been a reliable spread bet in the role of single digit underdog.

Tennessee go into this Sweet 16 game in solid form, having won nine of their previous 11 games.

The Volunteers saw a four-game win streak end in the penultimate game of the regular season, but rebounded to wrap up the schedule with a 76-65 win over South Carolina.

They then built on that in their first two outings in the SEC tournament, as they beat Texas 83-72 and upset Auburn 70-65 to reach the final.

Tennessee came up short with the trophy on the line though, as they were beaten 86-77 by Florida.

The Volunteers have put that disappointment behind them in the national tournament, advancing to the final 16 by beating Wofford 77-62 and UCLA 67-58.

Kentucky Form

Kentucky enter this matchup in solid form too, having won five of their previous six outings.

The Wildcats lost to a couple of top teams late in the regular season, but concluded that part of the campaign with back-to-back wins.

They then made it three-in-a-row with an 85-84 win over Oklahoma in the SEC tournament, only to see that streak end in the next round as they lost 99-70 to Alabama.

Kentucky showed no signs of a hangover as they began the national tournament with a 76-57 win over Troy.

The Wildcats then backed that up in the second round of March Madness as they eliminated Illinois, 84-75.

Kentucky @ Tennessee

Tennessee are seeded higher and are the bookmakers’ favourites for this Sweet 16 clash.

However, we cannot ignore Kentucky’s two regular season successes against the Volunteers, so give us the Wildcats and the free buckets.
