Texas Tech are tipped to cover the spread as they win this Sweet 16 showdown.

The Red Raiders do a good job of protecting the basketball and shoot the three-ball much better than Arkansas, and that is the recipe for success against the Razorbacks.

Texas Tech enter this matchup having rebounded from their Big 12 tournament disappointment with back-to-back wins.

The Red Raiders suffered a couple of defeats late in the regular season, but ended that part of the campaign on a three-game win streak.

They made it four-in-a-row as they downed Baylor in their conference tournament opener, winning 76-74, but their joy was short-lived.

Texas Tech were dumped out in the very next round, as they fell to a surprise 86-80 defeat at the hands of Arizona.

The Red Raiders have bounced back in the national tournament though, beating UNC Wilmington 83-72 and Drake 77-64 to reach the Sweet 16.

Arkansas Form

Arkansas go into this Sweet 16 clash on a solid run of form, having won seven of their previous nine games.

The Razorbacks endured a rough run in January, before steadying the ship over the final few weeks of the regular season.

They won four of their last five games to take some momentum into the SEC tournament, and they made a winning start as they downed South Carolina 72-68.

But just like Texas Tech they managed only one win in their conference tournament, losing 83-80 to Mississippi in the next round.

The Red Raiders got back to winning ways in their March Madness opener, beating Kansas 79-72, and they followed that up with a 75-66 success against St John’s NY in the second round.

Verdict

Arkansas @ Texas Tech

Arkansas have relied on other team’s mistakes through the first two rounds, but they do not have that luxury here.

Texas Tech take care of the basketball and are more efficient shooters, so we expect the Red Raiders to get the job done in the Sweet 16.
