Boston head out on the road for the first time in this Eastern Conference Finals series having opened up a two-game lead at home.

The Celtics, who compiled a league-best 64-18 record during the regular season, made smooth progress to the conference finals by beating both Miami and Cleveland 4-1 in the first two rounds.

They bounced back from a surprise 111-101 home loss to Miami in Game 2 with 104-84, 102-88 and 118-84 wins to progress to the second round.

Boston lost the second game of their series with Cleveland too, but they again responded to a loss with run of three consecutive wins, beating the Cavaliers 106-93, 109-102 and 113-98 to advance.

The Celtics then took their winning run to five games by beating Indiana at home in the first two games of this series, winning 133-128 in overtime and 126-110 in regulation.

Indiana Pacers Form

Indiana return home in desperate need of a win after losing the first two games of the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Pacers, who went 47-35 in the regular season, bounced back from a Game 1 defeat to win four of the next five games and beat Milwaukee 4-2 in the first round.

They then needed a full seven-game series to finally get the better of New York in the second round.

Each team won their first three home games of the series, before Indiana finally ended that trend and booked their place in the Eastern Conference Finals with a 130-109 victory in New York.

The Pacers have failed to back up that road win and find themselves 2-0 down in this series with Boston, having lost 133-128 in overtime and 126-110 in regulation in the first two games.
