Boston remain in a ‘must-win’ situation as they try to make back-to-back NBA Finals.

The Celtics beat Atlanta 4-2 and Philadelphia 4-3 in the first two rounds, and must now go the distance with Miami in order to advance.

As the higher seed they had home advantage coming into this series with the Heat, but they have failed to take advantage of this.

Boston lost 123-116 and 111-105 in the first two games at home, and then lost 128-102 on the road to leave themselves on the brink of elimination.

The Celtics have managed to fend off elimination in the last two games though, recording 116-99 and 110-97 victories to take Miami to Game 6.

Miami’s momentum has stalled over the last couple of games, but they still have an opportunity to clinch here.

The Heat made the playoffs through the Play-In Tournament, needing two games to get the job done, but did not look like a #8 seed as they beat Milwaukee 4-1 and New York 4-2.

They did not look like an eight seed in the first three games of the Eastern Conference Finals either, as they stormed to a 3-0 series lead.

Miami ran out 123-116 and 111-105 winners in Boston, before returning home to down the Celtics 128-120.

That left the Heat one win away from the NBA Finals, but they have failed to clinch in the last two games, following up a 116-99 home loss with a 110-97 road defeat.
