Charlotte went into the All-Star break on a miserable run of form, having lost 11 of their previous 13 games.

The Hornets enjoyed a three-game win streak in the middle of January, which was ended by back-to-back defeats in Memphis and at home to Portland.

They responded with a 123-92 blowout of New Orleans, but they failed to back that up as they then went on one of their worst runs of the season, losing six straight games.

Charlotte finally stopped the rot with a 117-116 win over San Antonio, only to then lose their final three games before the mid-season pause.

The Hornets went out on the road to lose 112-102 in Detroit, 97-89 at Brooklyn and 102-86 in Orlando.

Los Angeles Lakers Form

Los Angeles went into the All-Star break on the back of a loss, but they were in good form with 10 games in their previous 12 games.

The Lakers’ good run started with a four-game win streak that included a 117-96 blowout of defending champions Boston.

That winning sequence was ended by a 118-104 defeat in Philadelphia, only for them to hit back in style with six consecutive victories.

Los Angeles’ streak started with road wins at Washington, 134-96, New York, 128-112, and the LA Clippers, 122-97.

The Clippers then returned home to beat Golden State 120-112, Indiana 124-117 and Utah 132-113, before seeing that run end with a 131-119 loss at the Jazz.

Los Angeles are the better team in better form as the season resumes.

Doncic and James should be good to go for this one, so we expect the Lakers to make a statement as they resume their quest for another NBA championship.
