Charlotte Hornets at Orlando Magic Predictions & Tips

Charlotte can continue their strong start to the season with a road win.

The Hornets are the NBA’s second best scorers while Orlando are averaging less than 100 points per game.

The visitors are tipped to set a scoring pace that the Magic cannot match, allowing them to cover.

  • Charlotte Hornets are 3-1 this season
  • Charlotte Hornets have covered in 3 of their 4 games
  • Charlotte Hornets are averaging 121.5 points per game (2nd in NBA)
  • Miles Bridges is averaging 25.0 points per game for Charlotte
  • Orlando Magic have covered the spread in just 1 of their 4 games

Head To Head

  • Orlando Magic lead the all-time series 60-58
  • Charlotte Hornets won last season’s series 2-1

Charlotte Hornets Form

Charlotte have looked sharp through their first four games this season, compiling a 3-1 record.

The Hornets opened with a narrow 123-122 home win against Indiana before downing Cleveland 123-112 on the road.

They then registered their biggest win to date by beating the Nets in Brooklyn, 111-95 on Sunday.

Charlotte suffered their first loss of the season on Monday night though, blowing a big lead to lose in overtime at home to Boston, 140-129.

The Hornets are the second best scorers in the NBA, averaging 121.5 points per game.

Miles Bridge has led the way, averaging 25.0 points per game. He is also averaging 8.5 rebounds per outing.

LaMelo Ball has made a fast start to his sophomore season to average 22.8 points, 6.8 assists and 5.5 rebounds per game.

Mason Plumlee is the teams’ leading rebounder, averaging 10.3 rebounds through four appearances.

Orlando Magic Form

Orlando are in rebuild mode so it is no surprise to see them with a losing record after four games.

The Magic opened with back-to-back blowout defeats, losing 123-97 in San Antonio before falling at home to New York, 121-96.

They stunned the Knicks 24 hours later with a shock 110-104 win at MSG, but were brought back down to Earth by Monday’s 107-90 loss at Miami.

Lack of scoring is a big reason for Orlando’s early-season struggles.

They have broken the 100-point barrier just once and no player is averaging at least 20 points per game.

Cole Anthony leads the way in scoring, averaging just 15.3 points per game. He is the team’s assist leader with 5.8 per outing.

Anthony is also the joint team leader in rebounds. He is averaging 8.0 boards per game along with Mo Bamba.
