The Cavaliers ended 2024 on an eight-game win streak, and they kept that hot form going in the first few weeks of 2025.

They took their winning run to 12 games before it was finally brought to a halt by the 108-93 defeat to Indiana.

Cleveland avenged that loss with a 127-117 in Indiana two days later, only to then lose 134-114 when they moved on to Oklahoma City.

The Cavaliers bounced back quickly though, following up a 124-117 win at Minnesota with a 118-92 victory at home to Phoenix.

Houston Rockets Form

Houston go into this game having cooled off over the past few days, losing two of their last three games.

The Rockets began 2025 with a 110-99 win over Dallas, and then responded to a 109-86 defeat to Boston with a five-game win streak.

They beat the Los Angeles Lakers 119-115 at home, before recording back-to-back victories over Memphis, winning 119-115 on the road and 120-118 at home.

Houston then downed Denver 128-108 on the road, only to see their winning run end with a 132-127 defeat in Sacramento.

The Rockets bounced back to win 125-103 in Portland, but they failed to follow that up as they then lost 107-96 to Detroit.
