The Mavericks ended 2024 with back-to-back defeats, and saw that losing skid reach five games with three more losses to start 2025.

They finally stopped the rot with a 118-97 win over the Los Angeles Lakers, and then backed that up with a 117-111 success against Portland.

Dallas failed to keep that run going as they then lost back-to-back home meetings with Denver, 112-101 and 119-99, before losing 119-116 in New Orleans.

The Mavericks rebounded to beat Oklahoma City 106-98, only to return to losing ways with a 110-105 defeat in Charlotte and a 115-114 home loss to Minnesota last night.

Oklahoma City go into this matchup on a good run of form, having won 10 of their 13 games since the start of 2025.

The Thunder ended 2024 in sensational form, winning 12 straight games, and kept that run going in the early stages of 2025 with three more wins.

They downed the LA Clippers 116-98, New York 117-107 and Boston 105-92 at home, before finally seeing that streak end with a 129-122 loss in Cleveland.

Oklahoma City immediately responded with road wins over New York, 126-101, Washington, 136-95, and Philadelphia, 118-102, before returning home to down Cleveland, 134-114.

The Thunder failed to make it five-in-a-row as they lost 106-98 in Dallas, but they bounced back immediately, beating Brooklyn 127-101 and Utah 123-114.
