Golden State Warriors at Toronto Raptors Game 1 - Draymond Green can lead Warriors to victory

Warriors have won 8 of their last 10 games against the Raptors

Golden State Warriors at Toronto Raptors Game 1 Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips

Golden State Warriors travel to Toronto aiming to win their fourth NBA Championship in five years. Draymond Green has recorded back-to-back triple doubles and is my tip to lead the Warriors to the win in Game 1 at the Scotiabank Arena.

Golden State Warriors Form & Team News

Golden State got past Los Angeles Clippers (4-2), Houston Rockets (4-2) and Portland Trail Blazers (4-0) to advance to the NBA Finals. Despite a clean sweep over the Trail Blazers in the Western Conference Finals, the Warriors trailed for more minutes (101) than they led (83).

The Warriors are the second team in league history to reach the NBA Finals in five consecutive seasons. They got past Portland without Kevin Durant and have won six consecutive games since he went down injured with an achilles injury.

DeMarcus Cousins tore his left quad in Game 2 against the Clippers and was expected to miss the remainder of the playoffs. Durant won’t play in Game 1 and Cousins is questionable. Getting both players back against the Raptors would be a big bonus, but the Warriors have proved they can win without them which will provide plenty of confidence.

Coach Steve Kerr’s other superstars stepped up against the Trail Blazers, Stephen Curry averaged 36.5 points, 8.3 rebounds and 7.3 assists on 47.1 percent shooting and 42.5 percent from 3-point range.

Curry led Game 4 with a triple-double consisting 37 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists while making 7 of 16 3-point attempts. He became the fifth player in NBA history to score 30 points in each game of a four-game sweep.

Draymond Green registered back to back triple-doubles in Game 4 with 18 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists and Klay Thompson added 17 points despite shooting 7-for-21 from the field.

Golden State are paying 1.36 to win their fourth NBA Championship in five years. The Warriors can be backed at 1.95 to win Game 1 and I believe they can get it done having won six straight games including three on the road.

Toronto Raptors Form & Team News

The Raptors advanced to their first NBA Finals series after getting past Orlando Magic (4-1), Philadelphia 76ers (4-3) and Milwaukee Bucks (4-2). Key to their success was Kawhi Leonard who led from the front. In Game 6 against the Bucks Leonard had 27 points, 17 rebounds and seven assists with Pascal Siakam adding 19 points.

Siakam has been a breakout star this season and will need to be at his best if the Raptors can get past the Warriors. Kyle Lowry has taken a backseat to Leonard but has been shooting consistently while adding rebounds and assists.

Toronto will need get over fatigue while the Warriors are taking a long break since the end of the Western Conference Finals. The Raptors are slight favourites at home in Game 1 at odds of 1.90 and can be backed to win the series at 3.50.

Golden State Warriors at Toronto Raptors Head to Head

The Warriors have a 28-17 advantage in the head to head and have won eight of the last 10 games against the Raptors. Toronto won both regular season games this season, a 131-128 OT win in Toronto and a 113-93 win in Oakland.

Golden State Warriors at Toronto Raptors Match Up

Stephen Curry got back to MVP form against the Trail Blazers and has scored 179 points in his last five games at an average of 35.8 per game. Curry can be backed at 4.50 to score 35+ points in a Golden State win at betfair.

Draymond Green recorded consecutive triple doubles against Portland and is priced at 8.00 to get another triple double in a Golden State Warriors win.

Kawhi Leonard is the main man for the Raptors and if the Warriors can slow down his production they will win the game. Leonard can be backed at 2.30 to be the top points scorer which will be a popular pick.
