Miami narrowly missed out on a playoff berth after compiling a 46-36 record in the regular season.

The Heat enjoyed a solid run of form over the final few weeks of the season, winning seven of their final 10 games.

This run started with a three-game win streak – their best run of form since the second half of February.

Miami’s run was halted by a 109-105 defeat to Philadelphia, and their form dipped over the next four games as they went 2-2.

The Heat did wrap up the regular season with a couple of wins though, winning back-to-back home meetings with Toronto, 125-103 and 118-103.

Philadelphia 76ers Form

Philadelphia finished the regular season with a 47-35 record, having closed out that part of the season with 12 consecutive wins.

The 76ers struggled when Joel Embiid went down with injury, and a three-game skid in late March dealt a massive blow to their playoff chances.

They snapped that losing sequence with a 135-120 win in Toronto after Embiid returned, and they have been red-hot ever since.

Philadelphia beat Oklahoma City 109-105 at home, before heading out on the road to down Miami 109-105, Memphis 116-96, and San Antonio, in double overtime, 133-126.

The 76ers then returned home to wrap up the regular season, and beat Detroit 120-102, Orlando 125-113 and Brooklyn 107-86.

Verdict

MIA Heat @ PHI 76ers

Philadelphia would probably be in the playoffs already had Joel Embiid not got hurt.

He is back now though and they have been on a sensational run since his return, so we are expecting a 76ers victory here.
