Milwaukee Bucks at Atlanta Hawks Predictions & Tips

Atlanta can take Milwaukee to Game 7 with victory on Saturday night.

The Hawks made a slow start to Game 6 as they failed to capitalise on Giannis Antetokounmpo’s absence.

Milwaukee are not as strong on the road as they are at home though so Atlanta could bounce back.

And their chances will be greatly enhanced if they can get Trae Young back from injury for this one.

  • Atlanta Hawks are 6-3 at home in the playoffs
  • Milwaukee Bucks are 2-4 on the road in the last two rounds
  • Milwaukee Bucks could be without Giannis Antetokounmpo (knee)
  • Milwaukee Bucks are 6-6 without Giannis Antetokounmpo this season

Head To Head

  • Milwaukee Bucks lead the all-time series 128-125
  • Milwaukee Bucks lead the all-time playoff series 14-13

Milwaukee Bucks Form & Team News

Milwaukee swept Miami in round one and then beat a loaded Brooklyn team in an epic 7-game series.

They did not make the best of starts to the Eastern Conference Finals, losing 116-113 in Game 1 against Atlanta, but they rebounded impressively.

Giannis Antetokounmpo put up 25 points and Jrue Holiday chipped in with 22 as a real team effort saw them shut down Trae Young and romp to a 125-91 win in Game 2.

Giannis topped those numbers in Game 3 as he notched 33 points and 11 rebounds. Khris Middleton exploded into life with 38 points and 11 rebounds of his own, and that resulted in a 113-102 win.

Game 4 did not go according to plan though, as Giannis left the game with injury and Middleton failed to get anywhere nears his Game 3 numbers. The Bucks lost 110-88.

Their response was impressive as four starters scored 22 points or more, with Brook Lopez leading the charge with 33, and that lifted the Giannis-less Bucks to a 123-112 victory in Game 5.

Milwaukee now have a shot to seal the series on the road, but their road form has not been great over the past couple of rounds so they will be desperate to get Antetokounmpo back.

He is listed as day-to-day on the injury report though, while Donte DiVincenzo (foot) is definitely out.

Atlanta Hawks Form & Team News

Atlanta’s postseason run has been mightily impressive with a 4-1 victory over New York and 4-3 win against Philadelphia setting up this Eastern Conference Final tie.

They made an outstanding start to this series with Milwaukee as Trae Young lit up the Bucks in a dazzling display that saw him put up 48 points and notch 11 assists.

He got plenty of support in the paint as Clint Capela and John Collins combined for 34 assists, and all of this resulted in an impressive 116-113 win.

Young’s 35-point showing in Game 2 proving to be in vain as the Hawks were beaten 113-102, and he then suffered an ankle injury in Game 3 that effectively made him a non-factor

Nobody else could pick up the slack for Atlanta as they fell to a 113-102 defeat, but that was not the case in Game 4 as they blew out Milwaukee 110-88.

Lou Williams put up 21 points to fill the void left by Young’s absence, and he was one of six players to hit double digits for points in an all-round team performance.

Atlanta could not repeat that performance in Milwaukee as they were dominated in the paint in a 123-112 defeat that leaves them on the brink.

The Hawks must win Game 6 and they will be desperate to have Young (knee, day-to-day) back.

Verdict

Milwaukee dominated in the paint to take Game 5 but that was on their home court. They have not been as strong on the road.

So if Atlanta can get Young back for this one, and Giannis sits out again, we could see the Hawks force the decider.
