New Orleans Pelicans Form

New Orleans went close to an upset in Game 1, and they will be keen to avoid back-to-back defeats before they head home.

The Pelicans finished the regular season with a 49-33 record, and that meant they needed the Play-In Tournament to secure a playoff place.

They wrapped up the regular season with a defeat to the Los Angeles Lakers, and when the teams met again in the Play-In they lost once more, this time 110-106.

New Orleans did receive a second chance in the Play-In though, courtesy of their seeding, and they took it with a 105-98 win over Sacramento.

However, the Pelicans were unable to follow that up in their first playoff game, losing 94-92 in Oklahoma on Sunday.

Oklahoma City Thunder Form

Oklahoma City enter this matchup looking to open up a two-game lead in the series before heading to New Orleans.

The Thunder put together a 57-25 record during the regular season and that was enough to secure top spot in the Western Conference.

With that came home court advantage for the playoffs, which was sealed by them winning their final four games on the regular season schedule.

Oklahoma City beat Sacramento 112-105, blew out San Antonio 127-89, downed Milwaukee 125-107 and then demolished Dallas, 135-86, to wrap things up.

The Thunder then made it five wins in a row by beating New Orleans 94-92 in the opening game of this playoff series.

Verdict

NO Pelicans @ OKC Thunder

Oklahoma City made hard work of their first game, but there was plenty of reasons for positivity.

The Thunder saw plenty of good looks in that one and they are unlikely to be that wasteful in Game 2.
