The Magic closed out the regular season by winning won nine of their last 12 games, starting with a three-game win streak.

They dropped two of the next three, but responded strongly as they reeled off five consecutive victories.

Orlando beat San Antonio 116-105, and backed that up by downing Washington 109-96, Atlanta 119-112, Boston, 96-76, and Indiana 129-115.

The Magic’s run was ended in their regular season finale as they fell 117-105 in Atlanta, but they avenged that loss with a 120-95 victory over the Hawks in the Play-In.

Boston booked their place in the NBA Playoffs by putting together a 61-21 record to finish second in the Eastern Conference.

The defending NBA champions ended the regular season on a red-hot run of form that saw them win 19 of their last 22 games.

That sequence included a nine-game win streak that saw them win no less than eight times on the road.

Boston’s run was ended by a 124-103 loss to Miami, but they rebounded to win three straight, beating Phoenix 123-103, Washington 124-90 and New York 119-117 in overtime.

The Celtics then fell 96-76 in Orlando, only to bounce back with back-to-back home wins against Charlotte, 130-94 and 93-86.
