Philadelphia 76ers Form & Team News

Philadelphia made pretty straightforward work of Washington in the first round with a 4-1 series lead, but they did not emerge from it unscathed.

Star man Joel Embiid tore his meniscus during that series and was a serious concern coming into this series with Atlanta. That injury has not slowed him down though.

Embiid put up 39 points and nine rebounds as the 76ers lost the first game 128-125, but they bounced back to take Game with a 118-102 victory in which Embiid topped his previous display with 40 points and 13 rebounds.

Embiid was not has hot in Game 3, but he got plenty of help from the supporting cast as five other players hit double digits for points, with Tobias Harris putting up 22 points and eight rebounds in a another solid performance.

That all-round effort resulted in a 127-11 victory for Philadelphia in Atlanta, and if they can take Game 4 in Atlanta they will have a shot at wrapping up the series on their home court.

For the first time in the series Embiid is not appearing as questionable on the injury report so he should be good to go here.
Danny Green (calf) is sidelined however, and he is unlikely to return from injury before the end of the month.

Atlanta Hawks Form & Team News

Atlanta impressed as they dispatched the league’s best defence, the New York Knicks, in round one of the playoffs.

Trae Young and Clint Capela were the stars of the show as Young averaged 29.2 points per game and Capela averaged 13.4 rebounds per game.

They have looked pretty sharp for much of this series too, but they are going to need some help if they are to swing the series back in their favour after back-to-back losses.

Young racked up 35 points and 10 assists while Capela chipped in with 10 rebounds as the Hawks took Game 1 with a 128-124 victory in Philadelphia.

Young went cold in the second half of Game 2 though, while Capela was much less of a force in the paint, and that resulted in a 118-102 defeat to cap off the double-header in Philly.

The Hawks were looking to get back to winning ways in Game 3 on their home court, and once again Young led the charge with 28 points while Capela racked up 16 more rebounds. However, that could not prevent a 127-111 defeat.

Atlanta will have a chance to level the series on their home court in Game 4 but they will have to do it without three men – De’Andre Hunter (knee), Brandon Goodwin (illness) and Cam Reddish (Achilles) are all done for the season.
