Utah Jazz at Los Angeles Clippers Predictions & Tips

Los Angeles Clippers are without Kawhi Leonard but can still clinch the series.

Leonard is out with a knee problem but his absence did not stop La from winning in Utah in Game 5.

Paul George stayed in red-hot form and the supporting cast filled the void left by Leonard’s injury.

More of the same in Game 6 can see them make it four straight wins and seal a 4-2 win over the Jazz.

  • Los Angeles Clippers are 2-0 at home to Utah Jazz in this series
  • Los Angeles Clippers have won 3 straight games against Utah Jazz
  • Los Angeles Clippers have averaged 123 points per game over the last 3 games

Utah Jazz Form & Team News

Utah ran over Memphis in the first round of the playoffs, but they are having a much tougher time against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Donovan Mitchell was the spark the Jazz needed against the Grizzlies and he started this series in sensational fashion by racking up 48 points in Game 1.

Royce O’Neal and Rudy Gobert combined for 23 rebounds as the Jazz dominated inside the paint and all of that resulted in a 112-109 victory that gave them an early lead.

Mitchell then followed up that 45-point showing in Game 1 with 37 more in Game 2, and that proved to be the catalyst for a 117-11 win for Utah.

Mitchell was ‘held’ to 30 in Game 3 before exiting to rest his ankle in a 132-106 defeat in Game 4, and his 37 in Game 4 also proved to be in vain as they Jazz were beaten 118-104.

They now find themselves staring an exit in the face after Mitchell (21) produced his lowest scoring performance of the series so far in a 119-111 defeat in Game 5.

Utah have to win Game 6, but they may have to do it without Mike Conley (hamstring) and Elijah Hughes (illness), who both remain day-to-day.

Los Angeles Clippers Form & Team News

Los Angeles have loved making life hard for themselves in the playoffs so far, having trailed 2-0 in both of their matchups.

They battled back to win a seven-game thriller with Dallas in round one and are now on the brink of advancing after bouncing back from a couple of losses with three straight wins.

Paul George’s double double in Game 1 proved to be in vain because the Clippers could not stop Donovan Mitchell, resulting in a 112-109 defeat.

They were not blown out in Game 2 either, but once again they could not contain Mitchell despite paying extremely close attention to the Utah guard, with his 37 points helping condemn LA to a 117-111 loss.

The Clippers finally figured out a way to slow him down – if only a little bit – in Game 3, and when they needed it the most they got big games from two of their biggest stars – George and Kawhi Leonard.

Leonard put up 34 points and 12 rebounds for a double double, and George contributed 31 points as LA blew out the Jazz in Game 3, putting themselves right back into the series with a 132-106 win.

Leonard and George combined for 62 points as LA then levelled the series with a 118-104 win, and the Clippers then finally took the lead with a 119-111 victory in Game 5.

George led the charge with 31 points and nine rebounds, and he had to because Leonard (knee) is unlikely to return before the end of this series.
