The Hawks wrapped up the minor premiership with a win over the New Zealand Breakers on Wednesday 96-82.

With Trey Kell III missing the game due to a niggling injury the scoring load was picked up by Tyler Harvey with 29pts 5 boards and 8 assists as well as Todd Blanchfield who contributed with 17 pts off the bench on 4 of 11 shooting from the field but a perfect 6-6 from the charity stripe.

The victory was the Hawks second in a row after their demolishment of the JackJumpers last weekend and also secured a 3-0 series sweep against the Breakers in NBL25.

Despite keeping their opponent to just 82 points the Hawks gave up 50 of those points in the paint to a team missing the best player and scorer and their second best not playing in the second half.

If there are any negatives to say about the Illawarra season it is their penchant to allow teams to stay in games they are not worthy of being in.

It is clear the agression and mongrel switches off once they have built a big lead and multiple times they have found themselves having to defend their lead late in the 4th quarter.

Statistically they are the best scoring team in the league averaging 101.6 pts per game on the season and shooting at 49% from the field. They commit the fewest turnovers at 9.6 per outing while also grabbing a league high 43.9 boards per night.

Sydney followed up their two wins in Round 17 with back to back losses in Rounds 18 and 19, both games at home.

Sydney allowed their opponents to score 100+ points in the two losses, only the third time this season that teams have scored 100+ against Sydney in two straight games.

The Kings are 5-11 against current top 6 teams this season, their defensive average drops from 87.9 pts per game on the year against all opponents to 94.3 pts per game in the 16 games against top opponents.

On the scoring end their numbers increase ever so slightly but are generally consistent on the season. Jaylen Adams ranks at number 10 in scoring putting up 18.2 pts per game while Kouat Noi is 7th in scoring since Rd 15.

If Sydney win and Perth and SEM lose they have the opportunity to climb to 3rd in the standings but realistically will likely finish 4th or 5th.
