Washington Mystics had a great start to this month, earning back to back victories against Phoenix Mercury 90-77 and Dallas Wings 90-86 (both away from home). 

Their winning streak has come to an end three days ago, suffering a 78-71 home loss to favored Minnesota Lynx. Brittney Sykes was the top scorer with 13 points but had poor percentages (6/15 FG).

Washington’s chances of reaching the playoffs are slim, sitting in 10th place on the overall standings after winning 11 of their 35 matches. 

Chicago Sky are also having a disappointing campaign, winning just 13 of their 35 matches so far but are still holding the 8th spot on the overall standings. 

Their recent performances have been very good though, earning back to back victories at home against Los Angeles Sparks 92-78 and Dallas Wings 92-77. 

These victories have put an end to an awful run of seven straight victories that started on 19th of August and ended on 7th September.
