A savvy punter walked away with more than £3,000 after betting on Tyson Fury to stop Deontay Wilder in their world title rematch in Las Vegas.

Fury was in fine form as he stopped the Bronze Bomber in round seven to become a two-time world champion
However, while Fury was savouring the sweet taste of victory, our gambler John McIntyre was basking in the euphoria of a massive windfall.

McIntyre, clearly feeling confident about Fury's chances, put £75 on the Gypsy King to beat Wilder in the seventh round at 40/1.

Fury dominated from the opening bell but as the fight entered the seventh round, the punter would no doubt have felt nervous.

Fortunately for McIntyre, he earned a massive payout of £3,075 after Wilder's corner threw in the towel that very round to bring an end to the one-sided contest.

No one in the MGM Grand could have had any arguments about the outcome of the fight with two of the judges giving every round to Fury.

Wilder was soundly beaten on a dismal night and was even knocked down twice. The Alabama man was also taken to the hospital after the fight for a check-up and stitches inside his ear.

Our lucky punter is undoubtedly thinking of ways to spend his winnings but Fury is mulling over his next move. A third match with Wilder is certainly an option while a highly anticipated showdown with Anthony Joshua could also be on the cards.
