Betting.Club Review

Betting.Club has been in business for a few years now but it flies under the radar somewhat with the likes of bet365, Sportsbet, Ladbrokes, Neds and TAB dominating the Australian betting industry.

Betting.Club Home
::

It is now owned by PlayUp Limited - a company which has made its mark in the social betting arena with free-to-play fantasy sports betting games. Betting.Club, by way of PlayUp Interactive Pty Ltd, is licenced by Australia’s Northern Territory Government and is legally allowed to accept real money wagers via the internet and telephone.

Furthermore, it is an approved betting partner for the AFL, NRL, Cricket Australia, Football Federation Australia, PGA of Australia and Tennis Australia. Betting.Club is also the proud sponsor of NRL sides Parramatta Eels and St George Illawarra Dragons and A-League soccer side the West Sydney Wanderers.

Betting.Club Odds & Markets

Let’s jump straight in to what action Betting.Club delivers to punters. Like all Australian bookmakers, the site is split with Australia’s two great betting passions: racing and sports.

When you toggle over to the ‘sport’ betting side of the platform, you can view all the different categories available for betting. In total Betting.Club delivers 20 sports with several additional futures markets thrown in for good measure.

Betting.Club Football Betting Tips

Local sports take their rightful place at the pinnacle of this betting site, but this Betting.Club review was written during the AFL and NRL off-season, so the only betting options currently available for those sports are a series of futures markets.

Checking out the soccer betting options, things naturally start off with the A-League. There are another 30 leagues, cups and tournaments spread across 24 countries, plus Champions League and Europa League betting. The big games - the ones from Europe’s top leagues such as the English Premier League, La Liga, Serie A and the Bundesliga deliver an average of 50 betting markets. These include match result, O/U goals, BTTS, clean sheets, corners, first/last goalscorer, winning margin and time of first goal to name a few. Things do tail-off when you look around several of the other leagues. For instance, Argentina’s Primera Division and Brazil’s Futebol Brasileiro only have match result, O/U 2.5 goals and money line at 0.5. Frankly, this is not enough choice for Australia’s fanatical punters.

You can also bet on Basketball, which has leagues from all parts of the globe. Market depth is acceptable for the NBA, but the majority of the other fixtures only have two or three markets. This trend continues with the other sports; rugby union, rugby league, cricket, ice hockey, gridiron and so on. All the mainstream games have a moderate range of markets but there’s little choice in other areas.

As part of our Betting.Club review, we took a closer at the odds which punters can get betting on sports here. We compared it against two other online bookmakers competing in this space: Ladbrokes Australia and Mad Bookie. On the whole, Betting.Club fared reasonably well. Ladbrokes had the edge, but this site held its own on average.

Betting.Club Live Betting

Don’t be confused by telephone betting and live betting - although you do have to bet by telephone if you want to enjoy live betting. Betting.Club offers telephone betting on pre-match events but there is no indication that it provides live betting to its customers.

Betting.Club Website & Login

We commented that this betting platform is no thrills because it is very plain. It has an index menu running down the left (on a desktop) which has two tabs: racing and sport that you can toggle over depending on which you want to view. Essentially, everything is controlled from there. For instance, a click on basketball, and a further pull-down menu appears with the countries and leagues for this sport. This ultra-simple interface design makes navigating through the site a piece of cake, and the page load speeds are tremendously fast on all devices.

Placing your bets is straightforward - just click on the price from the market you want to have a punt on and it will be added to the bet slip. If you make 2, 3 or more selections, the different bet types (multis and system bets) will appear at the bottom of the slip. All you need to do is insert your stake and confirm the wager.

Betting.Club Mobile App

This online bookmaker is 100% web-based so there is no Betting.Club mobile app to download. This platform is responsive and will adjust to the size of device. The no-nonsense, simple layout is perfect for mobile users. The menus are easy to use and the lightweight pages make zipping around the platform effortless. You can sign up and create an account direct from your mobile. Eligible players will be able to enjoy the range of Betting.Club promotions and bonuses that are on offer, too.

Betting.Club Withdrawals & Deposits

Despite not offering PayPal, Betting.Club provides customers with enough options that funding an account is easy and hassle-free. You can choose from:

  • VISA
  • Mastercard
  • POLi
  • BPAY
  • Direct Deposit
  • Cheque

There is a partial closed loop system used in that deposits made by credit or debit card must have future winnings returned amounting to the same value. In other words, you cannot withdraw more to the card than the deposit value. For example, if you deposit $100 using your credit card, and you wager that and win $1,000 which you want to withdraw. $100 will be ‘refunded’ to the credit card, and you then need to provide another method (generally a bank transfer) for the remaining $900.

Payout times are fairly standard. After processing, you can expect bank transfers to take 1 - 2 days, but credit card withdrawals can be up to 5 working days. A further note, you can only make one withdrawal each day and all deposits must be turned over (wagered) once before winnings can be withdrawn.
