Chris Eubank Jr Form

Chris Eubank Jr is the current IBO world middleweight champion with a professional record of 34-3 (25 KOs).

Eubank Jr won 23 of his first 24 fights to earn himself a world title shot in February 2017, and he took his big chance by stopping Renold Quinlan in the 10th round to win the IBO super-middleweight title,

He went on to successfully defend that crown with a points win over Arthur Abraham and a third-round knockout success against Avni Yildirim, but he failed to hang onto the title in the World Boxing Super Series tournament.

The 33-year-old Englishman surrendered the IBO crown in a unification fight with George Groves in the semi-finals of the tournament, losing via unanimous decision.

He rebounded to stop JJ McDonagh in three rounds, and then beat James DeGale by decision to win the vacant IBO-super middleweight for a second time.

Eubank Jr dropped down to middleweight after that and beat Matt Korobov when his opponent was forced to retire with injury in the second round.

He then sandwiched a fifth-round stoppage of Wanik Awdijan with decision successes against Marcus Morrison and Liam Williams, before suffering a fourth-round knockout loss at the hands of Liam Smith.

Eubank Jr avenged that loss several months later, winning by 10th round TKO, and the followed that up last October with a seventh-round stoppage of Kamil Szeremeta.

Conor Benn Form

Conor Benn boasts an unbeaten record as he tries to do something his father Nigel failed to do – beat a Eubank in the boxing ring.

Benn currently stands at 23-0 (14 KOs) as he moves up from the welterweight division for this showdown with world middleweight champion, Chris Jr.

At his normal weight, the 26-year-old has made seven successful defences of the WBA continental title.

He beat Cedrick Peynaud by decision to win the belt in July 2018 and made quick work of his first two defences, stopping Jussi Koivula in the second round and Steve Jamoye in the fourth.

Benn then bested Sebastian Formella over 12 rounds before taking out Samuel Vargas in 80 seconds.

His stock continued to rise when he recorded a unanimous decision win over Adrian Granados, and that was followed by a fourth-round stoppage of Chris Algieri.

Benn then dispatched Chris van Heerden in the second round in April 2022, setting up a showdown with Chris Eubank Jr later that year.

The fight was shelved when he failed a drug test, but he was cleared to return to the ring in 2023 and has had two successful outings since resuming his career.

Both bouts have taken place in the United States, with Benn beating Rodolfo Orozco and Peter Dobson on points.

Verdict

Benn is unbeaten and has talent, but he is making a big move up in weight class here.

Eubank Jr is more suited to fighting around this weight, and that advantage is likely to result in a stoppage win.
