Claressa Shields is tipped to unify the world heavyweight titles by knockout.
Shields is simply many levels above Perkins, who fights sparingly and is in over her head.
‘The GWOAT’ lacks knockouts on her record, but she did win her heavyweight debut by KO and will want to put on a show for the hometown crowd.
- Claressa Shields boasts a perfect 15-0 professional record
- Claressa Shields KO’d Vanessa Lepage-Joanisse in her heavyweight debut

Claressa Shields Form
Claressa Shields is the current WBC and WBF world heavyweight champion with a professional record of 15-0 (3 KOs).
Shields made her professional debut in November 2016 and quickly climbed the ladder, becoming a world champion for the first time the following summer.
She knocked out Nikki Adler in the fifth round to become the WBC and IBF super-middleweight champion of the world.
The 29-year-old American made one defence of the crown, before dropping down to middleweight to beat Hanna Gabriels on points and become WBA and IBF champion.
Shields added the WBC title in her next fight, beating Hannah Rankin via decision, and successfully retained those belts with a points win against Femke Hermans.
From there she added the WBO and Ring Magazine titles by out-pointing Christina Hammer, and in January 2020 she dropped down to light-middleweight title win more world titles at that weight.
She beat Ivana Habazin via unanimous decision to claim the WBC and WBO titles, and the following year she claimed the IBF, WBA and Ring titles with a points success against Marie-Eve Dicaire.
Shields returned to middleweight after that and beat Ema Kozin to win the WBF belt and Savannah Marshall to claim the WBO crown.
Then, last year, she made the jump to heavyweight where she stopped Vanessa Lepage-Joanisse in the second round to win the WBC and IBF titles.
Danielle Perkins Form
Danielle Perkins is a 42-year-old fighter who has fought just five times professionally in her career, winning each time.
She debuted with a four-round points win over Monika Harrison in August 2020, and followed that up with a fifth round knockout of Princess Hairston that December.
Perkins then won the rematch with Harrison on points in March 2021, but it would be three more years before she fought again.
The New Yorker returned to the ring in March 2024 to knock out Timea Nagy in the second round.
Perkins then followed that up in July as she beat Christianne Fahey on points in a six-round contest.
Verdict
Danielle Perkins may be unbeaten, but that does not mean she is ready to face ‘The GWOAT’.
We expect Claressa Shields to outclass her opponent, drag her into deep waters and break her down for a rare knockout success.
