Devin Haney Form

WBC lightweight champion Haney (25-0, 15 KOs) boasts a 100% record at this point in his career.

Haney became the interim champion when Zaure Abdullaev retired after the fourth round of their fight in September 2019.

He was soon upgraded to proper championship status and made his first defence in November of that year.

Haney bested Alfredo Santiago over 12 rounds on that occasion.

He was forced to wait almost an entire year to make his second defence of the WBC title.

He did that in November of 2020, beating Yuriorkis Gamboa via unanimous decision.

Jorge Linares Form

Linares (47-5, 29 KOs) has enjoyed a storied career that has seen him win world titles at three different weights.

British fight fans will be familiar with him from beating Anthony Crolla for the WBA lightweight title in September 2016.

He beat Crolla via decision again in the rematch the following year, and then beat Luke Campbell by split decision.

Linares made one more successful defence, against Mercito Gesta, before losing the title.

The 35-year-old was stopped by Vasyl Lomachenko in the 10th round of their May 2018 fight.

Linares rebounded with a quick stoppage win over Abner Cotto but was knocked out in the very first round of his next fight.

The Venezuelan was dropped multiple times in a first-round stoppage loss to Pablo Cesar Cano.

Since then Linares has bested Al Toyogon via decision and stopped Carlos Morales in round four.
