Mike Tyson Career


Michael Gerard "Mike" Tyson competed from 1985 to 2005. He holds the record as the youngest boxer to win a heavyweight title at 20 years, four months and 22 days old.

‘Iron Mike’ won his first 19 professional fights by knockout, 12 of them in the first round. He won the WBC title in 1986 and added the WBA and IBF titles in 1987. 

Those victories made Tyson the first heavyweight boxer to simultaneously hold the WBA, WBC and IBF titles and the only heavyweight to successively unify them.

Tyson became the lineal champion in 1988 when he knocked out Michael Spinks in just 91 seconds. He defended his titles nine times before being knocked out by Buster Douglas in 1990.

Tyson was sentenced to six years in prison in 1992, returning to the ring in 1995 and winning the WBC and WBA titles in 1996. Tyson joined Floyd Patterson, Muhammad Ali, Tim Witherspoon, Evander Holyfield, and George Foreman as the only men in boxing history to regain a heavyweight championship after losing it. 

Tyson lost the WBA title to Evander Holyfield in 1997 in an infamous fight where he was disqualified for biting Holyfield's ear. Tyson fought for the world heavyweight title in 2002 at the age of 35 but was knocked out by Lennox Lewis

Tyson retired from professional boxing in 2006 after being knocked out in consecutive matches by Danny Williams and Kevin McBride.

George Foreman Career


George Edward Foreman competed between 1969 and 1997. Nicknamed “Big George”, he was a two-time world heavyweight champion and an Olympic gold medalist. 

Foreman won gold in the heavyweight division at the 1968 Summer Olympics, turned professional in 1969 and won the world heavyweight title with a second-round knockout of then-undefeated Joe Frazier in 1973. 

His most famous fight is undoubtedly is his first professional loss to Muhammad Ali in "The Rumble in the Jungle" in 1974. Foreman retired after a loss to Jimmy Young in 1977.
