After the epic that was his split decision draw with Deontay Wilder in December, Tyson Fury has lined up what appears to be another underwhelming opponent following his embarrassingly easy second round stoppage of Tom Schwarz last time out.

At 46th in the heavyweight rankings, Otto Wallin is ranked only slightly higher than Schwarz (56th), and it baffles me why Fury - who proclaims to be the best heavyweight of his generation - has chosen yet another straightforward assignment.

Fury claims Alexander Povetkin, Charles Martin, Kubrat Pulev, and Trevor Bryant all turned him down, so if that is the case then I suppose he has to fight someone to satisfy the ESPN execs.

This is all set up to be another clear mismatch. The skills, movement, shot variation and experience of Fury will surely lead to another win. But how and when he gets the job done is more to the point.

Fury is getting stronger and sharper since his return from a two-and-a-half-year absence, and while he has never been considered a knockout specialist, he showed most recently against Schwarz that accuracy can prove just as brutal as power.

Wallin is a brighter prospect than Schwarz, so I expect him to hang with Fury a bit longer, but the huge gulf in class will ultimately show sooner or later.

Otto Wallin History, Form & Boxing Style

Nationality: Sweden
Age: 28 (21/11/1990)

Height: 6ft 5.5in / 197cm
Reach: 78in (198cm)
Stance: Southpaw

Otto Wallin will compete in the biggest fight of his career by far when he faces Tyson Fury in Las Vegas. The Swede may be unbeaten in his first 20 professional fights, but there are serious levels to this boxing game, and nothing he has experienced so far would have prepared him for Fury.

There is always the argument that a fighter can only beat what's in front of him, and to be fair to Wallin he has done exactly that, with 20 straight wins and 13 knockouts. It's worth noting that most of those fights have been four and eight rounders. Only once has Wallin fought a 12-round bout.

For Wallin, facing Fury will be the opportunity of a lifetime, so we can be confident that he will enter the ring fully prepared and focused. It will likely not be enough to win, but should ensure he gives the best account of himself possible.
