Cheltenham Festival Going odds change ahead of Day One of the 2020 Festival

Bookmaker Ladbrokes believe the official going for Day One of the Cheltenham Festival on Tuesday could be Good to Soft, making that an Even money chance - in from 13/8 earlier this week.

Soft on Tuesday afternoon drifted out to even money from 4/6, while it's now 8/1 that the official going is described as Heavy, having previously been 7/2.

Ladbrokes spokesperson Nicola McGeady told FreeTips.com: "Initially we thought the going on day one would be soft, but the weather is pointing towards better ground and Good To Soft has gone joint-favourite."

Meanwhile, the same firm report further support for Samcro to win the Marsh Chase and have trimmed his odds to 6/1 (from 7/1).

McGeady added: "Samcro remains one of the biggest liabilities for us heading into the festival and judging by the support, punters believe he can show the class he displayed as a hurdler following another wind op."

Ladbrokes on Tuesday also made Lostintranslation 6/1 to win the 2020 Cheltenham Gold Cup, with the Colin Tizzard hopeful in from 13/2.

Official Going on Day One of Cheltenham: Evens Good To Soft, Soft; 8/1 Heavy, 33/1 Good.
