The fourth and final day of the Cheltenham Festival is headlined by the most prestigious contest in all of National Hunt racing, the Cheltenham Gold Cup. Galopin Des Champs ran out a hugely impressive winner of this Grade One 12 months ago and Willie Mullins' star is the odds-on favourite to defend his crown in March.

Here's the latest Cheltenham Gold Cup betting and a look at the most likely runners.

Following defeats at the hands of Fastorslow in both the Punchestown Gold Cup and the John Durkan, Galopin Des Champs entered the Savills Chase with a point to prove over Christmas. Mullins' stable star silenced any doubters with an emphatic success in that Grade One, and was cut into odds-on favouritism for the 2024 Gold Cup after beating rival Fastorslow in the Irish Gold Cup at the start of February.

Fastorslow lost nothing in defeat to Galopin Des Champs that day and Martin Brassil's top chaser sits second behind his rival in the current Gold Cup betting. Gerri Colombe, who was beaten 23-lengths by the market leader in the Savills Chase, can also be backed at a single-figure price.

The leading home contender in this year's Gold Cup is two-time Cheltenham Festival winner Shishkin, who fell when leading on his only start of the season so far in the King George VI Chase. Hewick flew home from the rear to capitalise on Shishkin's late tumble at Kempton and Shark Hanlon's King George winner has a score to settle in the Gold Cup, having fallen at the second-last in the race 12 months ago.

Former Brown Advisory winner, L'Homme Presse marked his return from injury with victory in the Fleur De Lys Chase at Lingfield and Venetia Williams' star will take in the Ascot Chase before going for Gold Cup glory. Last year's runner-up, Bravemansgame slipped further down the betting after suffering his fifth-straight defeat in the King George. Grand National hero, Corach Rambler and runaway Welsh Grand National winner, Nassalam could also represent home connections in the feature on day four of the Cheltenham Festival.

Mouse Morris' Gentlemansgame heads to the Gold Cup having beaten Bravemansgame in the Charlie Hall Chase on his only start this season. Other possible Gold Cup runners include Ahoy Senor, Protektorat, Jungle Boogie, Monkfish, The Real Whacker and Royale Pagaille.
