2023 Champion Hurdle Result - Constitution Hill remains unbeaten with flawless performance

Nicky Henderson's unbeaten star squared off against Willie Mullins' duo of State Man and Vauban. I Like To Move It and Not So Sleepy bolstered the British challenge in Tuesday's feature at the Cheltenham Festival, with Zanahiyr and Jason The Militant completing the field.

I Like To Move It went straight to the front and set some fairly rapid early fractions. Nico De Boinville positioned the favourite just behind the leader, while the Irish runners were happy to bide their time at the rear of the field.

Moving down the back-straight, Constitution Hill moved upsides I Like To Move It, forcing both State Man and Vauban to take closer order. At the top of the hill, De Boinville allowed the favourite to move into the lead and Constitution Hill took off.

In the blink of an eye, Nicky Henderson's star opened up a lengthy gap between himself and State Man. Nico De Boinville's mount wasn't at his fluent best at the final flight, but Constitution Hill had plenty left in the tank and the favourite crossed the line a nine-length winner.

State Man plugged on gamely for second, but he was no match for the ride of Nico De Boinville, who's stick remained untouched throughout the contest. Zanahiyr kept on up the hill to beat Vauban into third.
