Ladies's Day at Cheltenham begins with the prestigious Ballymore Novices' Hurdle. Winners of this great race have gone on to land Championship races at future Festival and this year's renewal is shaping up to be a cracker.

Sir Gerhard won the Champion Bumper 12 months ago and returns to Cheltenham on the back of a Grade One triumph over hurdles. Willie Mullins' charge is entered in the Supreme, but the betting suggests the Ballymore will be his Festival objective.

If Sir Gerhard does run on day two of the Cheltenham Festival, then Dysart Dynamo will most certainly go for the Supreme. Constitution Hill and Jonbon feature prominently in the Ballymore betting, but both will run in the opener on day one instead.

Gordon Elliott will be represented by Grade One winner Ginto. Journey With Me will look to follow in the footsteps of stablemate Bob Olinger, who won the Ballymore for Henry De Bromhead and owners Robcour in 2021.

Other likely Ballymore entrants include Challow Hurdle winner Stage Star, Nathaniel Lacy winner Minella Cocooner, Nicky Henderson's Walking On Air and Gordon Elliott's Three Stripe Life.
