Coral Cup Tips

The Coral Cup is the first handicap to be run on Day 2 of the Cheltenham Festival.

Coral Cup History

Peter Scudamore and Martin Pipe teamed up to win the inaugural running of the Coral Cup, with bottom-weight Olympian coming out on top.

Pipe had been the leading trainer in Coral Cup history with three victories. However, in the last two year's Nicky Henderson has jumped to the head of the trainer standings, with victories in 2019 and 2020 taking his tally up to four.

As far as jockeys go, Davy Russell and Barry Geraghty have claimed the most victories, sharing eight wins between them between 2006 and 2020.

The 2020 renewal of this great handicap, once again, went the way of Nicky Henderson, as well-backed mare Dame De Compagnie rewarded favourite backers with a fine winning display.
