During the early history of the Cross Country Chase, Irish specialist Enda Bolger dominated. Bogler saddled four of the first five winners, whilst also celebrating with Josies Orders in 2016.
Philip Hobbs' fan's favourite, Balthazar King twice won the Cross Country Chase in 2012 and '14.
Top amateur jockey, Jamie Codd celebrated his first victory in this testing race in 2017, as he guided Gordon Elliott's Cause Of Causes to victory.
The leading jockey in this unique race is the recently retired Nina Carberry, who rode four winners for Enda Bolger during her career.
Cheltenham legend Tiger Roll won the 2018 and '19 renewals of the Cross Country, before going on to win the Grand National three weeks later.
Gordon Elliott's star then tried to make it three victories in a row in 2020, only to be denied by French raider Easysland, who powered to victory on very testing ground.
