Adelaide Strikers Form

The Adelaide Strikers faced bottom of the table Melbourne Renegades in successive games last week and claimed a win a loss from the two match-ups. It is now three defeats from the last four games.

The Strikers dismissed the Renegades for 111 to win by 60 runs in the first game at the Adelaide Oval. Jack Weatherald (51) and Ryan Gibson (43 not out) starred with the bat, and Peter Siddle (3/16) and Wes Agar (3/23) excelled with the ball.

But Adelaide couldn't repeat the trick on Friday as they lost the rematch, which was once again played at the Adelaide Oval. The Renegades ended a seven-game losing run in the process.

Phil Salt (59) and Alex Carey (42) led their side to 177/7. But some magic from Mohammad Nabi saw the Renegades seal a crucial win as he struck 71 not out to win the game.

This will be Rashid Khan's final game before departing for international duty with Afghanistan. Will the spin wizard go out with a bang?

Melbourne Stars Form

Melbourne Stars suffered an unfortunate 18-run defeat to the Brisbane Heat in their last game, making it four losses in their last five matches.

In a rain-affected match in Gold Coast, the Heat had the advantage of batting first during two rain interruptions. Chris Lynn (48 from 23 balls) helped his side to 115/3.

The Stars were set a difficult 129 to win from 10 overs by D/L method, but made a fist of things to end 110/5. Marcus Stoinis blasted 34 and Nick Larkin ended on 35 not out from 16 balls trying to get his side home.

The Stars have dropped to seventh in the standings after losing to Sydney Sixers, Sydney Thunder, Hobart Hurricanes and the Heat. There only win during the last five games came in a rematch against the Hurricanes.

Haris Rauf made his BBL return for the Stars against Brisbane Heat and should improve for that first appearance of the season. Liam Hatcher was the unlucky man left out, but he could return in place of Sam Rainbird.

Nathan Coulter-Nile remains on the sidelines with injury, but Nic Maddinson is chance to return to the batting stocks. Ben Dunk is another option if the Stars opt to strengthen their batting line up.
