Brisbane Heat vs Hobart Hurricanes Predictions

The Hobart Hurricabes are flying high in the Big Bash and should be able to continue that against a Hobart Hurricanes side struggling for form. Ben McDermott and Colin Ingram have been brilliant for the Hurricanes and are backed to score runs again.

  • Hobart Hurricanes have won 3 of their last 4 matches.
  • Hobart Hurricanes’ Ben McDermott has scored 89 & 46 runs in his last 2 matches.
  • Hobart Hurricanes’ Colin Ingram has scored 55, 25, 44 & 19 runs in his last 4 matches.
  • Brisbane Heat have lost their last 3 matches.

Head to Head

The Hobart Hurricanes have won three of their last five matches against the Brisbane Heat. It is however the Heat who did the double over the Hurricanes in the 2020 Big Bash League.

Brisbane Heat Form

The Brisbane Heat are bottom of the Big Bash table after three matches, having lost all three of their matches.

Last time out the Heat came within an unlikely whisker of getting their first win against the Adelaide Strikers in Brisbane. The Heat bowled well to restrict the Strikers to a total of 150 runs thanks in the main to Xavier Bartlett who took 3-24 in four overs.

It was not a big total but the Brisbane Heat started poorly as they found themselves at 58-6 and then 68-8. The game looked dead and buried but up stepped captain, Jimmy Peirson who scored a magnificent 69 runs of 36 balls.

Along with the tail, Peirson took the game deep but eventually he needed a six off the final ball to win – Peirson only managed a boundary as the Heat fell two runs short.

Brisbane Heat Injuries & Team News

The Brisbane Heat will have to continue without their best batsman, Chris Lynn. He is reportedly out for the next five to six matches, which is a massive blow to a Heat side already in dire straits.

The Heat’s bowlers performed well so are likely to remain unchanged while they are a bit short on the batting front.

Hobart Hurricanes Form

The Hobart Hurricanes have had a fine start to the season and find themselves at the top of the BBL table after four matches. They will hope to carry this momentum forward into this match as they look to hold onto top spot.

Their last match saw a six wicket victory over the Melbourne Renegades in Hobart. The Renegades batted first and scored a below par 157 runs in their 20 overs. Scott Boland bowled superbly for the Hurricanes as he took 2-19 in four overs.

The normally reliable D’Arcy Short got out early, as did Will Jack. Ben McDermott however smashed 89 off 55 balls to see the Hurricanes cruise home with more than two overs remaining.

The Hurricanes have been reliant on D’Arcy Short in times gone by but it will be pleasing to see how they are managing without him being among the runs. Short has scored under 10 runs in three of his last four innings’.

Hobart Hurricanes Injuries & Team News

Hobart Hurricanes will stick with D’Arcy Short at the top of the innings. He almost guarantees runs in T20 cricket so his form will return.

Dawid Malan has completed his quarantine period and could come into the side ahead of the miss-firing Will Jacks. Morne Morkel is also available for selection in the bowling department.
