The Brisbane Heat will have to win here and hope for some favours if they are to have any chance of defending their BBL title. They are currently fifth, one point off the Stars, so if the Stars lose their final game on Sunday and the Heat win here, they will qualify in fourth place.

In their last outing, the Heat had a great chance to go into fourth when they met the Hobart Hurricanes at home. Batting first, Marnus Labuschagne scored 77 off 44 balls, Matt Renshaw hit 40 and Tom Alsop 39 in a 201-run total.

Unfortunately, the bowlers failed to back up the batsmen, particularly in the powerplay as they conceded 85 runs in the first seven overs. They pulled it back later on, but the damage was done as the Hurricanes won off the final ball of the match.
