Melbourne Renegades vs Hobart Hurricanes Predictions & Tips - Hurricanes backed to win crucial BBL match

D’Arcy Short and Matthew Wade have found run scoring form at just the right time for the Hobart Hurricanes. With the playoffs on the line, I’m looking at a Hurricanes victory with Short and Wade to get among the runs.

The Hobart Hurricanes have won their last four matches against the Melbourne Renegades. Their last match was earlier this season where the Hurricanes were comfortably winners by six wickets.

The Melbourne Renegades have nothing to play for with this being their final match of the season. They are in last place on the BBL table with no hope of climbing.

In their last match the Renegades went down by 26 runs to the Brisbane Heat in Melbourne. Bowling first, the Melbourne Renegades allowed the Heat to get off to a flyer and eventually post 173 in 20 overs.

The response from the Renegades was like it has been all season. Sam Harper scored 57 runs but no one else really supported him. They were eventually bowled out for 147 with more than an over to go.

The Melbourne Renegades will look to end the season on a high with a similar team that played in the last match.

Their squad doesn’t allow for many changes but Marcus Harris could come in. He is available after returning from international duty.

The pressure is on the Hobart Hurricanes ahead of this clash. They are currently placed fifth (the final playoff position) but defeat will almost certainly mean the Hurricanes miss out on the playoffs.

The Hobart Hurricanes put in a massive performance in their last match to stay in the playoff race. Batting first in Melbourne, the Hurricanes posted a total of 188 against the Sydney Sixers.

Matthew Wade smashed 86 and D’Arcy Short 72 runs in a huge 145-run opening partnership.

The Sydney Sixers pushed the Hurricanes all the way in the field but eventually fell seven runs shy on 181 runs. It was a crucial win for the Hurricanes to give themselves hope going into the final match.

The Hurricanes will certainly go with their strongest lineup. It is a all or nothing match with victory taking them to the playoffs.

The return of Australian captain, Tim Paine should see him come into the side, most likely for Will Jacks. Peter Handscomb missed out on the last match and could come in for Tim David.
