Perth Scorchers vs Brisbane Heat Predictions

Brisbane Heat are on a roll and don't have to travel to Perth to face the Scorchers due to a lockdown in Western Australia. That is a big bonus, and they can take advantage and reach the BBL10 final with momentum on their side.

  • Perth Scorchers have lost their last 2 matches.
  • Perth Scorchers have lost all 3 games played at Manuka Oval in BBL10.
  • Brisbane Heat have won their last 4 matches.
  • Heat batsman Chris Lynn has top scored in 5 of the last 8 matches.

Head to Head

Brisbane Heat defeated Perth Scorchers by six runs in the last game of the regular season to sneak into the finals. It was a loss that cost the Scorchers home advantage in last weekend's Qualifier.

The Scorchers now hold an 8-7 head to head advantage having won three in a row prior to the six-run defeat at Adelaide Oval.

Perth had recorded a dominant 59-run victory in the first meeting of the season against the Heat at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne.

Perth Scorchers Form

Having won eight out of nine games, the Scorchers knew a win over the Brisbane Heat in the final match of the regular season would see them finish top.

They lost by six runs at the Adelaide Oval, falling agonisingly short as they chased 181/7 from the Heat.

Things unravelled quickly in the BBL Qualifier against Sydney Sixers, who booked a place in the final with a nine-wicket win with three overs to spare.

The Scorchers reached 167/6 on the back on 69 not out from Josh Inglis and 30s from Colin Munro and Ashton Turner.

But it was never enough as James Vince (98 not out) and Josh Philippe (45) dominated the previously impressive Scorchers bowling attack.

Perth Scorchers Team News

The Scorchers are unlikely to panic and change a formula that has served them so well for much of the season.

Mitch Marsh plays after being fined rather than banned for an outburst when controversially dismissed against the Sixers.

Andrew Tye will also feature after causing controversy of his own. He bowled a no-ball wide from a bouncer to end the game and leave James Vince stranded two short of a century.

Brisbane Heat Form

Brisbane Heat enter the Challenger with a wet sail after four wins a row.

The Heat won their final two games of the regular season against the Melbourne Renegades and Scorchers to scrape into the BBL finals.

In last Friday's Eliminator against the Adelaide Strikers, Brisbane restricted the Strikers to 130/7.

The Heat got home with seven balls to spare with Joe Denly (41) and Jimmy Piersen (47 not out).

Piersen (43 not out) was also the matchwinner in the BBL Knockout victory over Sydney Thunder on Sunday along with Sam Heazlett (73 not out).

Brisbane kept the Thunder to 158/8 and won with five balls to spare at Manuka Oval.

Brisbane Heat Team News

Brisbane Heat have started the last two games with Xavier Bartlett in their attack and replaced him with Morne Morkel at the 10-over stage.

If they bowl first again, expect similar tactics. Otherwise the Heat will be unchanged.

What game at the Perth Scorchers and Brisbane Heat playing in?

The Scorchers and the Heat are playing the BBL Challenger. This game decides who will face Sydney Sixers in the BBL10 Final.

If this game was in Perth, as it should have been, the Scorchers would be the bet. But on neutral ground at Manuka Oval, I'm tipping the Heat.

The Scorchers have struggled at this venue this season and Brisbane have the momentum to take them to the final.
