Sydney Sixers vs Brisbane Heat Predictions
This should be a very tight encounter. The Sydney Sixers have plenty of quality in their side so I’m looking at them to get back to winning ways on Sunday.
Both teams have in-form batsmen with Josh Philippe backed for the Sixers and Chris Lynn for the Heat.
- Sydney Sixers’ Josh Philippe has scored 40+ runs in 3 of his last 4 matches.
- Sydney Sixers have won 5 of their 8 Big Bash matches.
- Brisbane Heat’s Chris Lynn scored 48 runs in his last match.
- Brisbane Heat’s Max Bryant has scored 30+ runs in 4 of his last 5 matches.
Head to Head
The Sydney Sixers have won three of their last five against the Brisbane Heat. It was, however, the Heat who won their last match just over a week ago by four wickets in the Big Bash.
Sydney Sixers Form
The Sydney Sixers are second on the Big Bash table after eight matches, behind cross-town rivals, Sydney Thunder. They have won five of their eight matches this season.
The Sydney-based outfit had probably their worst game over the last few seasons in their last match against the Perth Scorchers in Perth.
Batting first the Scorchers scored 183 in their 20 overs. None of the Sixers bowlers really hit their straps, which is unusual considering the strength of their bowling lineup.
In reply Jack Edwards top scored with 44 runs but the Sixers were bowled out for an embarrassing 97 in under 17 overs. There were four batsmen who got ducks while no one other than Edwards passed the 20 run mark.
Sydney Sixers Injuries & Team News
It is unlikely that the Sixers will make wholesale changes after one poor performance. They have a quality outfit so should stick with what they have.
Brisbane Heat Form
The Brisbane Heat have found some form with two wins from their last two Big Bash matches. That has pushed them up to fifth place in the Big Bash, six points behind top of the table.
The rub of the green went the Heat’s way in their last match against the Melbourne Stars in Gold Coast. In a rain shortened match the Heat scored 115 from in 10 overs.
The rain arrived during the Heat’s innings so that score was increased to 126 runs on the D/L method. Max Bryant scored 31 runs while Chris Lynn found his form with 48 from 23 balls.
In response the Stars could only reach 111 runs, losing by 17. Mark Steketee took 3-25 in two overs for the Heat.
Brisbane Heat Injuries & Team News
Expect the Brisbane Heat to go into this match unchanged given the form they have shown over the last two matches. With mainly youngsters on the outside they are unlikely to want to risk fiddling with the momentum built up.
