The Sydney Thunder and Brisbane Heat meet in Canberra for a BBL10 encounter on Monday. Both teams lost their opening match against the Melbourne Stars, so who will bounce back to get their first win of the season?
Sydney Thunder Form
The Sydney Thunder were impressive for long periods of time in their opening match against the Melbourne Stars in Canberra but ultimately fell 22 runs short.
The Thunder did well to restrict the Stars to 169 runs and they looked on target to win after the early dismissal of Usman Khawaja. Alex Hales and Callum Ferguson scored 46 and 54 runs respectively but unfortunately those that came in after failed to continue their fine work.
By the end of the 20 overs the Sydney Thunder were on 147-9. It was a disappointing ending considering the strong position they were in, but there were a few promising performances.
Sydney Thunder Team News
The Sydney Thunder are still waiting on some players to get to Australia or get through their quarantine time. In the meantime they are likely to stick with a similar team that started against the Stars.
Brisbane Heat Form
The Brisbane Heat began their BBL10 campaign poorly, going down by six wickets in Canberra to the Melbourne Stars. Batting first the Heat only managed 125 runs with Tom Cooper top scoring on 26 runs. The Stars cruised home by six wickets and three overs to spare.
The result wasn’t completely unexpected with the Heat still missing a number of key players for various reasons. Their over reliance on Chris Lynn will be a major concern for the coaching staff.

The Heat are hopeful that they can call on former South African stalwart Morne Morkel to strengthen their bowling lineup.
