Sydney Thunder Form
The Sydney Thunder fell 22 runs short in their opening match against the Melbourne Stars in Canberra, but bounced back with a notable win over Brisbane Heat last time.
The Thunder restricted the Stars to 169 runs and looked on target to win after the early dismissal of Usman Khawaja. Alex Hales and Callum Ferguson scored 46 and 54 runs respectively but the Thunder failed to build on that and ended on 147-9.
It looked like a similar story chasing 179 after the Heat had scored 178/6 batting first. With Thunder 22/3 and 80/5, their backs were against the walls. That was until Daniel Sams struck 65 not out from 25 balls to win the game with seven balls to spare.
Perth Scorchers Form
The Perth Scorchers went down by seven wickets to the Melbourne Renegades at the Blundstone Arena in their opener, losing with three and a half overs to spare.
Batting first the Scorchers could only muster 130 runs. Big things were expected from Colin Munro but he was out off the third ball as lower order batsman, Aaron Hardie top scored with 33 runs.
The Scorchers performed much better with the bat against the Melbourne Stars with Munro scoring 49 in a total of 158/6. But the game was abandoned and the points shared with the Stars 10/1 when rain came in Launceston.

The Sydney Thunder are set to hand New Zealand quick Adam Milne a BBL debut after he overcame an ankle injury. Spinner Tanveer Sangha could be the one to make way.
