Sri Lanka have oldest squad while Pakistan have picked youngest

All 10 teams participating in the 2019 Cricket World Cup were required to submit their 15-man squads by 23 April although changes can be made until 22 May. With the tournament in England and just four weeks away, Free Tips examines each squad as it stands at the time of writing (2 May).
Afghanistan 2019 Cricket World Cup Squad
Afghanistan have one of the youngest squads at the 2019 Cricket World Cup with an average age of 27.4. The team coached by West Indian Phil Simmons may appear to be minnows on paper but they might have one or two tricks up their sleeve.
A player to keep an eye on is 20-year-old spinner Rashid Khan, who is the third-ranked bowler in the MRF Tyres ICC ODI Bowling Rankings. Also in the mix is another dangerous spinner in Mujeeb Ur Rahman, the youngest player at the 2019 Cricket World Cup.

Australia 2019 Cricket World Cup Squad
Australian cricket is in a new era under Justin Langer and the best way to truly signal a new dawn would be to bring home a sixth Cricket World Cup title.
Aaron Finch captains a strong squad featuring controversial but talented batsmen Steve Smith and David Warner. Mitchell Starc was the joint highest wicket-taker at the 2015 Cricket World Cup which Australia won and is in the mix once again.

Bangladesh 2019 Cricket World Cup Squad
English coach Steve Rhodes has an experienced squad at his disposal as he looks to guide Bangladesh to glory. Captain Mashrafe Mortaza has 205 ODIs to his name whilst wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim has 201, vice-captain Tamim Al-Hasan 195 and Tamim Iqbal 189.
Bangladesh have played in every Cricket World Cup since 1999, making the Super Eight in 1999 and the quarter-finals in 2015. Should the Tigers qualify for the semifinals of the 2019 tournament, it would be their best tournament in Cricket World Cup history.

England 2019 Cricket World Cup Squad
England withdrew Alex Hales following their initial squad announcement due to his ban for recreational drug use. Experienced captain Eoin Morgan’s task was not made any easier by the saga but he has fellow senior players to lean on in Jos Buttler and Joe Root.
Trevor Bayliss is the home side’s coach and will hope that playing in front of their own supporters can help England to a first Cricket World Cup title.

2011 Cricket World Cup champions India have picked the most experienced squad in the tournament as they seek to take back the throne.
India have a total of 1573 appearances within their ranks but surprisingly have the fourth youngest squad in the tournament. Coach Ravi Shastri has no shortage of experience having represented India as a player between 1981 and 1992.

New Zealand 2019 Cricket World Cup Squad
2015 Cricket World Cup finalists New Zealand have gone with a mix of experienced heads and fresh blood as they look to go one better in England and Wales this year. 218-cap Ross Taylor makes the cut as does experienced captain Kane Williamson and uncapped Tom Blundell.
Former Black Cap Gary Stead is the coach having succeeded Mike Hesson in August 2018.

Pakistan 2019 Cricket World Cup Squad
Pakistan have named the youngest squad in the tournament with an average age of 27.3. Many of their players were not yet born at the time of their 1992 Cricket World Cup triumph but they each have a chance to make history themselves now.
Mohammad Hasnain and Shaheen Shah Afridi are two of the key youngsters in Mickey Arthur’s squad with both capable of doing damage with the ball.

Ottis Gibson presides over an experienced Proteas squad looking to shake off the ‘chokers’ tag and claim their first ever Cricket World Cup title.
Faf du Plessis captains the side while there is room for veterans Hashim Amla and JP Duminy as well as newcomers onto the scene including Rassie van der Dussen and Lungi Ngidi.

The Lions, coached by Chandika Hathurusingha, have chosen the oldest squad in the tournament for the 2019 Cricket World Cup with an average age of 29.9. Lasith Malinga and Suranga Lakmal could play crucial roles for the Lions as they look to add a second ever Cricket World Cup title to their trophy cabinet.

West Indies 2019 Cricket World Cup Squad
The West Indies won the first two Cricket World Cup tournaments but have fallen on hard times since. They have a chance to get themselves back on track now under the guidance of coach Floyd Reifer.
Chris Gayle is the big name in the squad and his propensity for hitting out might serve the West Indies well at the 2019 Cricket World Cup should they be chasing big totals in high pressure situations.
