All 10 teams participating in the 2019 Cricket World Cup were required to submit their 15-man squads by 23 April although changes can be made until 22 May. With the tournament in England and just four weeks away, Free Tips examines each squad as it stands at the time of writing (2 May).

Afghanistan 2019 Cricket World Cup Squad

Afghanistan have one of the youngest squads at the 2019 Cricket World Cup with an average age of 27.4. The team coached by West Indian Phil Simmons may appear to be minnows on paper but they might have one or two tricks up their sleeve.

A player to keep an eye on is 20-year-old spinner Rashid Khan, who is the third-ranked bowler in the MRF Tyres ICC ODI Bowling Rankings. Also in the mix is another dangerous spinner in Mujeeb Ur Rahman, the youngest player at the 2019 Cricket World Cup.

Squad: Gulbadin Naib (c), Rashid Khan (vc), Aftab Alam, Asghar Afghan, Dawlat Zadran, Hamid Hassan, Hashmatullah Shahidi, Hazratullah Zazai, Mohammad Nabi, Mohammad Shahzad (wk), Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Najibullah Zadran, Noor Ali Zadran, Rahmat Shah, Samiullah Shinwari.

Australia 2019 Cricket World Cup Squad

Australian cricket is in a new era under Justin Langer and the best way to truly signal a new dawn would be to bring home a sixth Cricket World Cup title.

Aaron Finch captains a strong squad featuring controversial but talented batsmen Steve Smith and David Warner. Mitchell Starc was the joint highest wicket-taker at the 2015 Cricket World Cup which Australia won and is in the mix once again.

Squad: Aaron Finch (c), Alex Carey (vc, wk), Pat Cummins (vc), Jason Behrendorff, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Usman Khawaja, Nathan Lyon, Shaun Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Jhye Richardson, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Marcus Stoinis, David Warner, Adam Zampa.

Bangladesh 2019 Cricket World Cup Squad

English coach Steve Rhodes has an experienced squad at his disposal as he looks to guide Bangladesh to glory. Captain Mashrafe Mortaza has 205 ODIs to his name whilst wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim has 201, vice-captain Tamim Al-Hasan 195 and Tamim Iqbal 189.

Bangladesh have played in every Cricket World Cup since 1999, making the Super Eight in 1999 and the quarter-finals in 2015. Should the Tigers qualify for the semifinals of the 2019 tournament, it would be their best tournament in Cricket World Cup history.

Squad: Mashrafe Mortaza (c), Shakib Al Hasan (vc), Tamim Iqbal, Liton Das (wk), Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), Mahmudullah, Mohammad Mithun (wk), Sabbir Rahman, Mehedi Hasan Miraz, Soumya Sarkar, Rubel Hossain, Mohammad Saifuddin, Mosaddek Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman, Abu Jayed.

England 2019 Cricket World Cup Squad

England withdrew Alex Hales following their initial squad announcement due to his ban for recreational drug use. Experienced captain Eoin Morgan’s task was not made any easier by the saga but he has fellow senior players to lean on in Jos Buttler and Joe Root.

Trevor Bayliss is the home side’s coach and will hope that playing in front of their own supporters can help England to a first Cricket World Cup title.

Squad: Eoin Morgan (c), Jos Buttler (vc, wk), Moeen Ali, Jonny Bairstow (wk), Tom Curran, Joe Denly, Liam Plunkett, Adil Rashid, Joe Root, Jason Roy, Ben Stokes, David Willey, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood.

India 2019 Cricket World Cup Squad

2011 Cricket World Cup champions India have picked the most experienced squad in the tournament as they seek to take back the throne.

India have a total of 1573 appearances within their ranks but surprisingly have the fourth youngest squad in the tournament. Coach Ravi Shastri has no shortage of experience having represented India as a player between 1981 and 1992.

Squad: Virat Kohli (c), Rohit Sharma (vc), Shikhar Dhawan, K. L. Rahul, Vijay Shankar, MS Dhoni (wk), Kedar Jadhav, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami.

New Zealand 2019 Cricket World Cup Squad

2015 Cricket World Cup finalists New Zealand have gone with a mix of experienced heads and fresh blood as they look to go one better in England and Wales this year. 218-cap Ross Taylor makes the cut as does experienced captain Kane Williamson and uncapped Tom Blundell.

Former Black Cap Gary Stead is the coach having succeeded Mike Hesson in August 2018.

Squad: Kane Williamson (c), Tim Southee (vc), Tom Blundell (wk), Trent Boult, Colin de Grandhomme, Lockie Ferguson, Martin Guptill, Matt Henry, Tom Latham (wk), Colin Munro, James Neesham, Henry Nicholls, Mitchell Santner, Ish Sodhi, Ross Taylor.

Pakistan 2019 Cricket World Cup Squad

Pakistan have named the youngest squad in the tournament with an average age of 27.3. Many of their players were not yet born at the time of their 1992 Cricket World Cup triumph but they each have a chance to make history themselves now.

Mohammad Hasnain and Shaheen Shah Afridi are two of the key youngsters in Mickey Arthur’s squad with both capable of doing damage with the ball.

Squad: Sarfraz Ahmed (c, wk), Shoaib Malik (vc), Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Abid Ali, Babar Azam, Mohammad Hafeez, Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim, Hasan Ali, Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Afridi, Junaid Khan, Mohammad Hasnain, Haris Sohail.

Faf du Plessis captains the side while there is room for veterans Hashim Amla and JP Duminy as well as newcomers onto the scene including Rassie van der Dussen and Lungi Ngidi.

Sri Lanka 2019 Cricket World Cup Squad

The Lions, coached by Chandika Hathurusingha, have chosen the oldest squad in the tournament for the 2019 Cricket World Cup with an average age of 29.9. Lasith Malinga and Suranga Lakmal could play crucial roles for the Lions as they look to add a second ever Cricket World Cup title to their trophy cabinet.

West Indies 2019 Cricket World Cup Squad

The West Indies won the first two Cricket World Cup tournaments but have fallen on hard times since. They have a chance to get themselves back on track now under the guidance of coach Floyd Reifer.

Chris Gayle is the big name in the squad and his propensity for hitting out might serve the West Indies well at the 2019 Cricket World Cup should they be chasing big totals in high pressure situations.

Squad: Jason Holder (c), Chris Gayle (vc), Carlos Brathwaite, Darren Bravo, Sheldon Cottrell, Fabian Allen, Shannon Gabriel, Shimron Hetmyer, Shai Hope (wk), Evin Lewis, Ashley Nurse, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Kemar Roach, Andre Russell, Oshane Thomas.
