India are strong favourites against a very strong Pakistan side. An upset is quite possible, particularly if the Pakistan bowlers manage to make early inroads.

India came into this match having won their opening two fixtures against Australia and Afghanistan. This is a massive clash for them as it gives them the opportunity to go top, but it is also against massive rivals.

In their last match, India beat Afghanistan by eight wickets. Bowling first, India held the Afghans to 272 runs in 50 overs with Jasprit Bumrah taking four wickets.

In response, Rohit Sharma smashed his way to 131 runs off 84 balls. Ishan Kishan managed 47 runs while Virat Kohli kept his strong form with 55 runs. They scored the runs in 35 overs at a run rate of close to eight.

This is not a fixture that India will want to rest key players. Expect a full-strength lineup, however, bowling changes may be made depending on the pitch.

Pakistan Form

Pakistan, like their hosts, have won their opening two fixtures of the tournament. Victory will see them go three from three and possibly top the table.

In their opening game, Pakistan laboured to an 81-run win over the Netherlands. Last time out they just managed to get over the line against Sri Lanka, winning by six wickets with 10 balls to spare.

Sri Lanka batted first, amassing a strong total of 344 runs. It was always going to be a tough chase particularly after two early wickets fell, including that of Babar Azam.

However, Abdullah Shafique scored 113 runs while Mohammad Rizwan top scored with a stunning unbeaten 131 runs to steer Pakistan to the win.
