Cape Cobras vs Titans Predictions & Tips - Runs for Klaasen as Titans seek second win

The Titans’ Heinrich Klaasen comes into this match in fine form after striking 54 runs in the Titans opener. He is backed to score over 23.5 runs and be the Titans top run scorer.

The Cape Cobras have won their last four T20 matches against the Titans. They last met in April 2019 where the Cobras won by five runs.

The Cape Cobras got their CSA T20 Challenge off to a poor start after suffering a 14-run defeat to the Dolphins in Durban. 

The Dolphins batted first and scored 155 runs. Siyabonga Mahima was the pick of the Cobras bowlers, taking 4-18 in three overs.

In response, the Cobras could only muster 141 runs in their 20 overs. Christiaan Jonker top scored with 41 runs while Tony de Zorzi added 39 and Kyle Verreynne 29 runs.

The Cobras are likely to make a couple of changes for this match. Place will have to be made for Janneman Malan which could see Zubayr Hamza dropped.

Nandre Burger is another who could come into the side. His allrounder status gives the Cape side more batting depth, something they clearly need.

The Titans were impressive in their opening victory over the Knights in Durban. Tabraiz Shamsi was superb with the ball, taking 3-20 as the Titans restricted the Knights to 116 all out.

Dean Elgar hit 37 runs at the top of the innings but went at under a run a ball. With the score on 83-4 after 15 overs, the Titans were in trouble.

That was until Heinrich Klaasen (54) and Chris Morris (21) got together to steer the Pretoria-based outfit to victory with three overs to spare. The six wicket victory will give the Titans confidence ahead of this tough encounter.

The Titans performed well but they will be playing plenty of matches in a very short space of time. Rotation is very likely.

Veteran spinner, Simon Harmer could be rotated into the squad especially if they want to go with two spin bowlers on a slow Kingsmead pitch. Fast bowler, Junior Dala should also get a start in this fixture.
