Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Rajasthan Royals Predictions

Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers are both in superb form for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Along with Virat Kohli, they look far too strong for a Rajasthan Royals side who’ve been very inconsistent. My best bet is an RCB win.

  • Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Glenn Maxwell has scored 39, 59 & 78 runs in his last 3 IPL matches.
  • Royal Challengers Bangalore’s AB de Villiers has scored 48 & 76* runs in 2 of his last 3 IPL matches.
  • Royal Challengers Bangalore have won their last 3 matches.
  • Royal Challengers Bangalore have won their last 2 matches against the Rajasthan Royals.
  • Rajasthan Royals’ Jos Buttler scored 49 runs in his last IPL match.

Head to Head

The Royal Challengers Bangalore and level at 2-2 with the Rajasthan Royals over their last four completed matches. Lasts season the Royal Challengers won both matches by seven and eight wickets respectively.

Royal Challengers Bangalore Form

The Royal Challengers Bangalore are top of the Indian Premier League table after winning their opening three fixtures.

In their last match the Royal Challengers put in a magnificent performance in Chennai to beat the Kolkata Knight Riders by 38 runs. On a pitch that all teams have struggled to score fluently, the Royal Challengers smashed 204 runs in 20 overs.

Glenn Maxwell top scored with 78 runs while AB de Villiers added an extraordinary 76 not out off just 34 balls. That total was always going to be difficult to topple on a slow pitch.

The Knight Riders put up a decent fight but it was Harshal Patel that stopped them in their tracks, taking 2-17 in four overs. Kyle Jamieson took three wickets but went at almost 14 runs to the overs.

The comfortable win kept RCB at the top of the table as the only unbeaten team this season after three matches.

Royal Challengers Bangalore Injuries & Team News

The Royal Challengers only filled three of their four international spots in the last match. They could go unchanged into this one unless pitch conditions suit spin bowling.

Adam Zampa is an option but then RCB will want to bowl first. Bowling leg spin in the due in Mumbai can be very challenging.

Rajasthan Royals Form

The Rajasthan Royals have had an inconsistent start to their season. They have managed just one win in their opening three fixtures.

After the Chennai Super Kings elected to bat first in their last match in Mumbai, the Royals managed to take regular wickets but failed to control the run rate. Chetan Sakariya was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3-36 in four overs.

The Super Kings managed to score 188 runs, a target that was certainly attainable on a good batting wicket in Mumbai. Jos Buttler got the Royals off to a great start, scoring 49 runs off 35 balls. Unfortunately the next highest score was from Jaydev Unadkat on 24 runs and batting at no. 9.

It ended with a comfortable 45-run defeat for the Royals.

Rajasthan Royals Injuries & Team News

The Royals have moved Jos Buttler up the order to open after Ben Stokes was ruled out of the tournament. Jofra Archer is still not with the squad as he continues recovery from injury.
