CSK need a win at home. In their own conditions, a loss could potentially spell the end of their campaign soon considering how close each team is in this season.
CSK are coming off a loss against Punjab Kings in their previous game, albeit in a tight finish that went down to the final over.
Devon Conway hit a nice fifty but the scoring rate was a bit slow, which resulted in him retiring himself out as the chase went down to the wire.
KKR conceded 238 against LSG at home at the Eden Gardens in their previous game, a score they came to within four runs of. However, for large parts of that chase, it seemed like KKR would cruise to that massive total.
Ajinkya Rahane set the stage with 61 off 35 balls while Venkatesh Iyer managed 45 off 29 balls but that wasn’t enough as KKR fell just short.
Verdict
KKR are a powerful team but there have been some gaps that have become evident in the last few games, including the form of their middle order as well as their death bowling. That is also true for CSK but there is a strong chance that the hoem team will be able to capitalise on home conditions.
