The Knight Riders got off to a decent start through Jason Roy (26) and Shakib Al Hasan (35), but it was a late flurry of three sixes from Andre Russell (40 off 25 balls) that lifted their score to 165/6 off 20 overs.
The Unicorns got off to a flying start and, despite superb bowling from Spencer Johnson (3/36), they raced to the win in the 16th over.

After losing to MI New York in the final last year, the Orcas would have hoped for a winning start to the 2024 season, but they lost their opening match to MI New York by six wickets with 34 balls to spare.
After the Orcas collapsed to 19/3 in the sixth over, Shubham Ranjane (35) did his best to get the innings back on track, but with no support from the middle order, the Orcas were bowled out for 108 in the 20th over.
MI New York raced to the win in the 15th over for the loss of just four wickets. Cameron Gannon (2/40) returned the best figures with the ball for the Orcas.
