Washington Freedom have a powerful bowling attack, with one of the world’s fastest bowlers in South Africa's Anrich Nortje. New Zealander Adam Milne is another super-quick bowler who will keep batters on the back foot.

South Africa’s high-performing left-arm quick Marco Jansen will offer some good variation as well as potentially adding vital runs for the side. Australian Ben Dwarshuis is another good bowling option for the side.

The Washington batting is limited, although they have three keeper/batters who can all score useful runs. Josh Philippe and Glenn Phillips are likely to be the two relied on most for runs, but South African Andries Gous has serious hitting potential if he is given a run in the tournament.

The side will be captained by former Aussie Test and white-ball international Moises Henriques, whose vast experience with bat and ball will be a vital part of balancing his side.

The Seattle Orcas will seem like home-from-home for the pack of South Africans who fill the Seattle-based side. The Orcas could make a huge splash with their potent batting line-up, with big-hitters Quinton de Kock and Heinrich Klaasen capable of lifting their side way past 200

The West Indies’ Shimron Hetmyer will add some additional meat to the order. Hetmeyer averages 35 in ODIs and has scored five centuries in 44 ODI innings. Zimbabwe’s all-rounder Sikandar Raza has made a real splash with bat and ball in the last year and has proven himself a man for the big occasion.

Left-arm quick Wayne Parnell will add variety with the ball, with West Indian paceman Hayden Walsh able to add some backup.

The Orcas are also well-stocked with international-quality all-rounders in Pakistan’s Imad Wasim and South Africa’s Dwaine Pretorius. Sri Lanka’s Dasun Shanaka is a third experienced international all-rounder, but they won’t be able to call on Australia’s Mitchell Marsh, who has just forced his way into Australia’s Ashes side.

The 18-year-old South African all-rounder Matthew Tromp will gain great experience from being part of the squad but is unlikely to find a place in the strong side.
