Mzansi Super League History
The Mzansi Super League (MSL) was founded by Cricket South Africa (CSA) in 2018. The Mzansi Super League came from a planned Twenty20 cricket tournament called the T20 Global League that was supposed to be held in South Africa from November 2017.
Cricket South Africa announced in October 2017 that the T20 Global League would be postponed to November 2018 because of financial considerations, lack of a broadcast deal and sponsor. The first T20 Global League tournament was scheduled to feature eight privately-owned teams, this was changed to six CSA-owned teams with the new tournament named the Mzansi Super League.
The South African Broadcasting Corporation will broadcast all matches of MSL domestically with Global Sports Commerce (GSC) the official international commercial and broadcast partner.

2019 Mzansi Super League Squads
More than 250 cricketers had registered for the Mzansi Super League draft with the full squads confirmed on 3 September 2019. Any team can acquire players in the player draft.
South African marquee players were assigned to the six teams first followed by teams picking an additional international marquee player. Teams were allocated fourteen picks in the draft with player salaries dependent on the number they were picked.
