Head to Head
New Zealand have won six of their last seven ODI fixtures against Bangladesh. The Black Caps won the 2nd ODI of this series by five wickets in Christchurch.
New Zealand Form
New Zealand have won five of their last six ODI matches after winning the 2nd ODI against Bangladesh by five wickets in Christchurch.
Bangladesh again batted first and managed a very competitive total of 271 runs. Trent Boult and Matt Henry both took a wicket each while going at under five runs to the over.
The Black Caps response was slow initially as Martin Guptill, Henry Nicholls and Will Young were all sent packing to the dressing room early. Tom Latham and Devon Conway then steadied the ship with a 113-run partnership.
Conway was eventually out on 72 runs but the damage was done. Latham went on to score an unbeaten 110 runs as New Zealand won by five wickets to clinch the series.
New Zealand Injuries & Team News
Ross Taylor remains a doubt for the 3rd ODI but should he prove his fitness, could come in for Will Young.
Henry Nicholls impressed in the 1st ODI so the selectors should stick with him at the top of the innings.
Tom Latham will continue as captain with Kane Williamson unavailable.
With the series already won, the hosts could look to bring in Mark Chapman for Jimmy Neesham or Daryl Mitchell.
After being blown out of the water in the 1st ODI, Bangladesh fought back well in the 2nd ODI but still came up just short.
It was a far more competitive match than the opening one of the series but the hosts still managed to get home. Bangladesh batted first , this time scoring 271 runs. Tamim Iqbal top scored with 78 runs while Mohammad Mithun batted superbly for his 57-ball 73.
Bangladesh made a good start with the ball, taking the first three wickets for just 53 runs. Unfortunately a terrible fielding display followed as catch after catch went down and the hosts put together a big partnership.
New Zealand ended up winning by five wickets with 10 balls remaining in the innings.
Bangladesh Injuries & Team News
Bangladesh were much improved in the 2nd ODI and will look for a similar performance this time around. They could go into the match unchanged once again.
