The Sunrisers have made a stunning return to form in the SA20 and in a matter of a week have once again turned into title challenges. They have won the first two editions of the SA20, but that run looked to be coming to an end when they lost their first three games of this season.

However, the Eastern Cape-based side have bounced back to win their last three games and go third on the SA20 total. In their last match, the Sunrisers beat the Pretoria Capitals by 52 runs after batting first and posting 149.

The pitch in Gqeberha is quite slow and not ideal for run scoring, so the 149 total was above par. It started poorly though as the Sunrisers found themselves at 53-5 after 10 overs before Aiden Markram rescued matters with an unbeaten 68, ably supported by the lower order.

Marco Jansen then bowled magnificently, taking 4-13 in four overs as the Capitals folded to 97 all out.

Momentum is with the Sunrisers in the SA20, so it is doubtful they will tinker too much with their lineup.

Joburg Super Kings Form

The Joburg Super Kings started the season well but have fallen off the pace in fourth place. They have suffered two defeats in their last three matches with the other abandoned due to the weather.

Jonny Bairstow scored 60 in the Super Kings last game as they posted 146 batting first against the Paar Royals away from home. It wasn’t enough as the Royals chased the score down to win with five balls to spare.

The Super Kings may need to make some changes to wrestle momentum back in the competition. They do have a bowling lineup suited to conditions in Gqeberha though.
