Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe 2nd T20 Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips

Bangladesh host Zimbabwe in the 2nd T20 in Dhaka as the hosts look to wrap up the two-match series with another victory. Odds are short on The Tigers but the in-form Liton Das and Soumya Sarkar carry plenty of value.

Bangladesh Form

Liton Das continues his magnificent run of form for Bangladesh scoring 59 runs in the 1st T20. He was well assisted by Tamim Iqbal (41) and Soumya Sarkar (62). This took Bangladesh to a total of 200 runs which Zimbabwe never threatened to chase.

Mustafizur Rahman was the pick of the bowlers taking 3-32 as Zimbabwe were all out for 152 runs.

We cannot ignore Liton Das who scored 126 and 176 runs in the last two ODIs against Zimbabwe and then followed in up with 59 runs in the 1st T20. I’m going to back him in the best batsman and man of the match market.

Bangladesh are short priced at 1.16 to win which is always risky in T20 cricket. Their batsmen carry far more value in my opinion, especially if they maintain this level of intensity.

Bangladesh News

Bangladesh are unlikely to make many changes here.

Zimbabwe Form

Zimbabwe were never realistically expected to challenge Bangladesh in the longer formats but in the T20 game they would have had hope of a win. Unfortunately the bowlers allowed Bangladesh to score 200 runs in the 1st T20 in Dhaka, a challenging total under any circumstances.

An early flurry of wickets put pay to Zimbabwe’s chances despite some late order runs by Donald Tiripano (20) and Carl Mumba (25). Not batsman managed to pass the 30-run mark wherein lies the problem for the visitors.

Some may fancy a punt on Zimbabwe upsetting the odds at 5.00 but my focus will fall upon the hosts for this one.

Zimbabwe News

There shouldn’t be many changes to the Zimbabwe line-up. They have been blooding a lot of youngsters in this series and are likely to continue on that trend.

Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe Head to Head

Bangladesh have won eight of their 12 T20 matches against Zimbabwe which includes their last three matches. In their last match Bangladesh won by 48 runs after scoring 200 runs and dismissing Zimbabwe for 152 runs in Dhaka.

Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe Betting Odds

Bangladesh are short priced at 1.16 to win with Zimbabwe at 5.00. Tamim Iqbal is the favourite in the best batsman market for the hosts at 3.50 with Liton Das offering value at 4.33. Das can also be backed at 9.00 in the man of the match market.

Soumya Sarkar is paying 1.90 to pass the 22.5 runs mark with Zimbabwe’s Brendan Taylor priced at 2.00 to get more than 20.5 runs.

Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe Match Up

Bangladesh have outclassed Zimbabwe in every area during the limited overs matches thus far (ODIs and T20. The hosts batting has been too strong for Zimbabwe who’s bowlers, in particular the spinners have struggled.

Big players for Zimbabwe, Brendan Taylor and Craig Ervine have failed to fire with bat in hand which has put a lot of pressure on the younger batsmen. This will need to change if they wish to return home with a victory.

Post bet analysis

Bangladesh won by 9 wickets as Liton Das scored 60 runs in a Man of the Match performance. Soumya Sarkar was not out on 20 when Bangladesh won so failed to reach the 24.5 run mark. A 9 unit gain on the match nevertheless.
