Both teams are severely weakened in the absence of international stars. India have however recently played as a unit so I’m backing them to get the win.

The England squad is without their Test playing players as they recently finished a series against India. Eoin Morgan has also retired so Jos Buttler takes over the captaincy.

India Form

India played two T20 fixtures late in June against Ireland, winning both although the second match saw them just get over the line by four runs.

India have won 16 of their last 18 matches in this format. Their two defeats both came against South Africa in a home series in June 2022.

Despite losing the opening two matches against South Africa, India won the following two before the fifth one was rained out.
